Christmas Light Award Winners of 2018
It was the best of displays, it was the brightest of displays. In that most wondrous season when frost kissed windowpanes and chimney smoke curled heavenward like prayers of gratitude, there emerged from our humble community two distinct classes of luminous artistry, each worthy of celebration in its own peculiar manner.
Above, dear reader, you shall discover those exceptional souls whose ambition knew no bounds, whose vision transcended the mere stringing of bulbs upon eaves. These industrious spirits labored through autumn’s chill, their fingers nimble with wire and determination, creating spectacles of such magnificence that even old Scrooge himself might have paused in his counting to marvel. They are the virtuosos of voltage, the masters of merriment made visible.
Yet below awaits another breed of wonder entirely. Here dwell the displays that captured not merely the eye, but the very heart of the populace. These are the addresses whispered between neighbors over garden fences, the destinations that drew carriages… or rather, automobiles… in great processions through the evening hours. Families returned to these beacons of joy as surely as swallows return to Capistrano, making pilgrimages that became as sacred as any Christmas tradition.
Thus we present both: excellence crowned with laurels, and beloved favorites embraced by the multitudes. God bless them, every one.
